Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Nischal Dahal ("we", "us") for the Deck app and the website at this address (together, "Deck"). By creating an account or using Deck, you agree to them. If you use Deck for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.
1. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 16 and able to enter into this agreement. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your Google account secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using it.
2. Using Deck
While you have an active plan (or a free trial), we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Deck on Macs you own or control. You may not:
- resell, rent or share your access with others;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer Deck, except where the law allows it regardless of this term;
- get around Deck's sign-in or plan checks;
- use Deck to break the law, or to harm, attack or overload other systems.
3. Plans and payment
Deck Pro is a subscription. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which also handles taxes and receipts and has its own terms for the payment.
- Renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Free trial. If your plan starts with a free trial, you won't be charged until it ends. Cancel before then if you don't want to continue.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Settings › General › Manage Plan, or on your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Refunds. See our Refund Policy.
- Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
4. Agents and other services
Deck works with coding agents and other tools made by others, such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI. You need your own accounts with them, their terms apply to your use of them, and you pay them directly. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for them or for what they produce.
Agents can run commands and change files on your Mac. Deck gives you ways to stay in control, such as asking before actions, access modes, and undo, but you decide how much access an agent has, and you're responsible for reviewing what it does. Keep backups and use version control for work you care about.
5. Your content
Your code, files, prompts and conversations are yours. They stay on your Mac, and we claim no rights to them.
6. Changes to Deck
We improve Deck over time, which means features may change. We won't remove a core feature you're paying for without telling you in advance.
7. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Deck and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. If we stop offering Deck entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any unused part of a period you've paid for.
8. Disclaimer
Deck is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that Deck will be uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by agreement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business, including losses caused by actions agents take on your Mac. Our total liability for any claim relating to Deck is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant. If you keep using Deck after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, cancel your plan.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Nepal, except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim there.
